Carl J. Turman age 89 of Sulligent, AL passed away Sunday, March 12, 2017 in the Fayette Medical Center in Fayette, Alabama.

Born December 15, 1927 in Sulligent, AL he is the Son of the late Lee Roy and Lillian Gladice Crump Turman and the Husband of Frances Geleeta Nolen Turman.He was a Veteran ofWorld War II and the Korean War having served in the US Army for 2 years and the US Air Force retiring after 25 years.He retired from the Postal Service having worked in Birmingham and Sulligent.He loved gardening, eating catfish, watching westerns and helping others.He was a member of the Sulligent First Baptist Church andrecommitted his life by baptism at age 80.

He is survived by his Wife, Frances Geleeta Nolen Turman of Sulligent, AL, 4 Daughters, Linda (Macky Jr. Anderson of Sulligent, AL, Carla (Gerald) Buzbee of Jasper, AL, Debbie (Robert) Lucas of Amory, MS, and Sandy Osborn of Florence, AL, 3 Sons, Alan (Cheryl) Turman of Sulligent, AL, Gary (Kathy) Turman of Vernon, AL, and David Ray Turman of Sarasota, FL, 7 Grandchildren, 5 Great Grandchildren, A Sister Imogene Davis of Sulligent, AL and a Brother, Ralph Wayne Turman of Sulligent, AL.

He was preceded in death by 3 Sisters, Ruby Gray Turman, Annie Chloe Scott and Gladys Spradling and a Brother, Roy Lybrand Turman and a Grandson, Heath Buzbee.

Services held Tuesday, March 14, 2017 at 2:00 pm from the Sulligent First Baptist Church with Burial in the Pine Springs Cemetery.Bro.Byron Pickering officiating.
